The American Gaming Association (AGA) recently took its Get to Know Gaming(G2KG) campaign, to Des Moines, Iowa, convening a panel of local leaders from the area who touted gaming’s strong impact across the Hawkeye state.
 
The event marked the release of our new research report, Casinos & Communities Iowa, which highlighted several strong industry partnerships, and unveiled compelling new data about the economic impact of gaming. Iowa gaming companies employ 15,662 people, support $618 million in wages, generate more than $336 million in tax revenue and have an economic impact of over $2.5 billion.

Gaming industry stakeholders and local media heard remarks from:

  • Wes Ehrecke, president and CEO, Iowa Gaming Association;

  • Iowa State Senator Jake Chapman;

  • Paul Czak, general manager and VP, Ameristar Council Bluffs;

  • Brad Rhines, SVP and chief strategic officer, Prairie Meadows Casino and Hotel;

  • Dory Briles, executive director, Des Moines Public Library Foundation; and

  • Angela Dethfels-Trettin, chief community impact officer, Community Foundation of Greater Des Moines.
